We use mobile applications to do almost everything on a daily basis, from exercising, diet, and getting a discount voucher, to ordering food or booking a taxi. As a student, you can use an app to learn a new language, revise your notes, create flashcards for your lecture, organize your tasks, or even search for the meaning of a phrase or a word.
Apps are useful for students and amongst the many student apps available online the most useful student apps are as follows:
1. Evernote
You can use Evernote to write down lecture notes on the spot and even take pictures and use them within your notes. You can also use the app to add recordings, sync notes between two devices, add a checklist to your notes, and even add video links to review videos that you think are relevant to the subject. It is a very useful student application that you could get through the App Store and Google Play.
2. Duolingo
It is one of the most well-known educational apps for students especially those interested in languages. It’s a great student learning app that helps in learning languages, available in both the App Store and Google Play store. You start with the basics of the language like the letters and then move on to greetings and later through repetitive questions you gain an insight on grammar and syntax of the language and so on. What’s really great about this app is that you can decide how long you’re willing to study every day and at which times, so the app customizes a plan depending on your input.
3. Cite This For Me
If you have a research assignment, this is one of the most useful apps for students. It’ll help you with bibliography and creating a citation in MLA, Chicago, APA, etc. All you need to do is choose the style you want then enter the title of a book, paper, to get a list of books with the name you entered. You can also add it as an extension to Word Office and they have an iOS keyboard too. It’s the best student English writing app there is.
5. Timetable
If you are one of the people who can’t remember important dates, events, exam timetables and so on, you really need a student time management app to help you. Timetable is one of the few great apps you can depend on to keep your schedule up-to-date. Its simplicity and clean interface will make you fall in love with it. You can add your schedule and events on the app easily and a notification will appear whenever it is time for your event. You also set the notifications to be earlier so you have got a reminder. This app is available on Google Play only with similar alternatives on the App Store like Handy Timetable
6. Alarmy
If you oversleep often, this is the app for you. This student alarm app is available on both the App Store and Google Play. It is a unique app that does not shut up with just a small button touch.
