Regardless of where you intend to study abroad, the experience of living and enjoying your life outside your comfort zone is something you should seek out. Imagine living in the UK surrounded by the best attractions, attending the best universities, and interacting with like-minded people; it is an experience worth every minute of your time. Still, studying abroad is not easy; you need a certain comfort level to get the results you need. That is why you should always care about your student room type! Here is a list to help you identify the room types available in the UK.

What are the Student Room Types Available?

1. Single Rooms

This room type generally comes with a bed, wardrobe and a study area. It is usually located within a large flat with two rooms or more. The bathrooms, kitchens and living areas are always shared. If you hate feeling lonely, this is the ideal choice for you!  Your living room will become your haven where you can share a cup of coffee and chatter away with your flatmates anytime.

2. En-Suite Rooms

These rooms are also located within multiple bedroom flats; they are usually fully furnished with a bed, wardrobe, and study area. The word en-suite in the room means that the bathroom is private per room. Living in this type of room, you will have access to a shared living area and a shared kitchen; however, you will also enjoy quality time without any disturbance in your room. Plus, you won’t have to wait in line to freshen up every morning before your lectures.

3. Studios

Introverts will love this room type! If you love living in a quiet environment away from extra social activities that will affect your studies, this is the room for you. Studios are generally fully furnished rooms that are slightly larger than standard rooms. They are self-contained with a kitchenette and a private bathroom. You won’t have to worry about any interruptions in a studio.

4. Flats

Do you love the idea of a studio, but you don’t like how small they are? Choose a flat as your student room. Flats are generally fully furnished apartments with plenty of space where you can find a separate bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and living area. You will have more chores to do in a flat like sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.; however, as they say, no sweet without sweat!

5. Twin Rooms

Nothing is better than studying with a friend and living together! Remember Rachel and Monica? If you and your friend are ready to jump on the plane together, then book a twin room. Twin rooms usually have twice the number of beds, workspaces, and a double wardrobe to fit all your clothes together. They will definitely help you form an unbreakable bond with your best friend, and you will have enough memories to last a lifetime.

6. Double Rooms

Do you intend to study abroad with your significant other? If your answer is yes, then choose a double room near your university. Double rooms generally come with a double bed, a workspace or two and a double wardrobe. They are generally affordable, and you get to share everything in the room.

7. Triple/ Quadruple Rooms

As the name suggests, this room accommodates three to 4 people together; it is also called a dorm room. Up for an adventure where you get used to different minds and cultures, choose this room type. Whoever you end up with within this student room, you are bound to share a lot together and grow closer by the end of the year. Furniture in this room type usually differ with 3,4 beds, a workspace or more and a wardrobe or no wardrobe at all, so ask around.

In conclusion, choosing the best student room types depends on many factors; two essential factors are understanding the available room types and your personality and preferences. Further factors could include your budget, residence location, and even student housing facilities.
