What Do Students Do in Brussels?

When you’re not studying or done with university, you can enjoy what the city of Brussels has to offer its residents. The city is filled with various places you would enjoy yourself at, from museums and art galleries to theatres and opera houses. The city is known for its gastronomic scene, so visiting an eatery or a cafe is something you should also do while there. Transportation in Brussels

Students require easy access to various parts of the city during their study period, that’s why prior knowledge of a city’s transportation system is important. Brussels has an extensive transportation network, with buses, trains, trams, metros, shared taxis, and bikes. There are seven metro lines spread throughout the city, four of which are above ground and the rest are underground metro lines. The bus and tram networks are comprehensive and cover almost the entire region. There are 17 tram lines and 50 bus routes, 11 bus routes operate at night from midnight until 3 am. Electronic smart cards are used instead of tickets and give you access to any of the 3 networks: metro, bus, or tram; these typically cost around 20 EUR a month with a student discount. Public transport in Brussels also includes a shared taxi service as well as a public bicycle-sharing programme. Brussels has airports and railway stations that are considered the largest in the country and have trips within and outside of the country.
