The Sao Paulo urban rail transport system is made up of three main systems: the Sao Paulo metro, which has 6 lines serving 89 stations, the commuter rail system, which has 7 lines covering the city’s metropolitan areas, and an underground system with 6 lines, including a monorail. Sao Paulo houses the second-largest bus terminal in the world with a bus network made up of 17,000 buses and trolleybuses that operate both within and outside the city.
