Cork Institute of Technology's Crawford College of Art and Design is a constituent college. It offers full-time bachelor's, master's, and higher diploma courses, all of which are approved by CIT and the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC). Cork Institute of Technology (CIT), presently known as Munster Technological University, was a Cork-based Irish third-level educational institution. At the time of its closure, the institute had 17,000 students (part-time and full-time) studying art, business, engineering, music, drama, and science. The institute has been named Institute of Technology of the Year by The Sunday Times University Guide for Ireland on several occasions. Munster Technological University was founded on January 1, 2021, when CIT and IT Tralee joined to become Ireland's second Technological University.
Departments and Divisions
The Crawford College of Art and Design has three departments; The Department of Fine Art and Applied Art, The Department of Media Communications, and The Department of Art Therapy and Continuing Visual Education. The College offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in many areas of study: Art Education, Art Portfolio Preparation, Art Therapy, Arts and Engagement, Ceramics, Glass and Textile, Digital Media and Design, among others.
