Why Study at University College Cork?

University College Cork (UCC) is a constituent university of the National University of Ireland in Cork, Ireland. The institution began as one of three Queen's Colleges in Belfast, Cork, and Galway in 1845. In 1908, it was renamed University College, Cork. It was later renamed University College Cork – National University of Ireland, Cork in 1998. UCC has been ranked by a variety of organisations, including the Sunday Times, which named it "Irish University of the Year" in 2003, 2005, 2011, 2016, and 2017. The European Commission-funded U-Multirank system selected UCC as a top-performing university in 2015.

Departments and Divisions

University College Cork offers its students different types of study programmes; they include undergraduate, postgraduate, adult continuing education, and continuing professional development programmes. Undergraduate courses include Accounting (BSc (Hons)), Food Science (BSc (Hons)), Computer Science (BSc (Hons)), among others. As for postgraduate courses, they include Archaeology - Human Osteoarchaeology (MA), Occupational Health (Online) (MSc), Digital Arts and Humanities (MA)...etc. Adult continuing education courses are also offered on-campus, they include Arts (History of Art) (Cert), Local and Regional Studies (Dip), and Validation Science (Cert). In addition to the previously mentioned, continuing professional development courses are also available, they include Acute and Chronic Wound Care for Healthcare Professionals, Introduction to Clinical Trial Design and Analysis, and Law of Ship Finance.

Many facilities and services are offered to students to aid their learning experience; they include laboratories, a library, state-of-the-art lecture halls, societies, a students’ union, student accommodation, sports facilities, and social areas.
