One of Ireland's oldest universities is the National University of Ireland. It was founded in 1845 and is widely regarded as a research-driven institution dedicated to providing high-quality education. It was formerly known as Queen's College before being renamed several times in 1908 and 1997.
The National University of Ireland has five colleges: the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies, the College of Science and Engineering, the College of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences, Adult Learning and Professional Development, and the College of Business, Public Policy, and Law.
The University offers its students different types of programmes, including undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Undergraduate courses include Arts, Bachelor of Science in Geography and Geosystems, Mental Health Nursing…etc. As for postgraduate courses, they include Adolescent Health (MSc), Advanced Language Skills (MA), Global Hospitality Management and Intercultural Communication (MSc), among others.
The College offers a great learning experience to its students through the facilities and resources available on campus; these include student accommodation, a well-resourced library, societies, sports facilities, a students’ union, bookshops, and student support services.
On-campus student accommodation is available. The halls of residence provided by the University are Corrib Village and Goldcrest Village. They offer ensuite rooms and apartments. The rooms feature a double bed, a desk and chair, and ample storage. The residences offer many amenities and services, including a shop, a self-service laundrette, sports facilities, bicycle racks, car parking, security, an assistance team, a maintenance team, and a reception team.
If you need to explore a different university and get a different student experience, the Burren College of Art is nearby and Casita provides Galway student halls near it.
