St Giles International was founded in 1955 by Paul Lindsay and his wife Diana. Paul studied education and began his teaching career at a polytechnic in north London, where he taught English and French to fluent English speakers. With only £100 in his pocket, he rented a small room on a back street in Soho, London, and opened an English school. St Giles has grown into an international organization with six year-round centres in the UK and Canada, as well as Junior Summer Courses in the UK.

Departments and Divisions 

The Cambridge school offers a variety of English language courses in both group and one-on-one environments. The friendly mid-size school is an excellent resource for students who are new to the English language and seek more personalized attention.

Homestay: This popular accommodation option is great for those who wish to practise their English outside of the classroom while also learning about British culture. You will be completely immersed in the English language and culture, and you will have regular opportunities to practice your English with your host family. By public transportation, homestay accommodation is between 10 and 40 minutes from the school. 

Homestay accommodation includes carefully selected and monitored hosts, many of whom have been known to the school for 10 years or more, single or shared rooms, choice of breakfast only or half board, all bed linen and towels provided, and police checked homestay accommodation for students under 18 years old. 

Student Residences: Tripos Court, St Giles Cambridge's newest Residence Partner, is a modern complex of eight purpose-built student residences in a fantastic location with restaurants, pubs, leisure facilities, utilities, and transportation links all within walking distance.
