Why Study at Guildford College of Further & Higher Education

Guildford College of Further and Higher Education (GCFHE) is a Surrey County Council-funded educational establishment for students of age 16+ undertaking full-time and part-time studies. It dates back to 1908 when Guildford Technical Institute was founded. The campus at Stoke Park opened at the start of the Second World War in 1939 while Merrist Wood was established in 1945 when the first courses in agriculture and horticulture started. The two campuses merged in August 2003. In March 2019, the College became part of the Oxford-based group Activate Learning and left Surrey County Council control.
