Facilities and Resources
LIPA is based across two Grade II listed buildings which are The Institute and The Art School. It provides high-end performance and rehearsal spaces for performers and access to the latest equipment to enable students to produce professional-standard work. LIPA offers a wide range of facilities including performance spaces, teaching and practice rooms, seminar rooms and lecture theatre, design & technology facilities, audio facilities, a Learning Resources Centre (LRC), technical services, ICT services, and the LIPA Bar and Canteen.
Performance spaces include the Paul McCartney Auditorium, the Sennheiser Studio Theatre, The Art Studio Theatre, and other licensed performance spaces which are Room 4.24 (rehearsal room), Canteen, and the LIPA Bar. Teaching and practice rooms facilities include rehearsal rooms, dance studios, music practice rooms, and a management suite. Seminar rooms and lecture theatre facilities are all equipped with state-of-the-art presentation equipment as well as a refurbished lecture theatre that is used for lectures, seminars, and masterclasses.
Design & technology facilities include a scenic workshop, costume and wardrobe, and lightning. Audio facilities include recording studios, equipment, offline suites, broadcast audio, and live sound. Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is a specialist creative and performing arts library which holds an extensive collection of books, e-books, scores, DVDs, CDs, e-resources, print, and electronic journals.
