Why Study at UCL School of Pharmacy
The UCL School of Pharmacy (formerly The School of Pharmacy, University of London) is part of University College London's Faculty of Life Sciences and is located in Bloomsbury, central London. It has been teaching pharmacists for over 175 years.
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain established the College of the Pharmaceutical Society in 1842. When it broke away from the Pharmaceutical Society in 1949 and became a constituent college of the University of London, it was renamed The School of Pharmacy. In 1952, the School was granted a royal charter, and in January 2012, it merged with UCL.
The UCL School of Pharmacy is regarded as one of the best pharmacy schools in the United Kingdom. It has over 179 years of experience and tradition as the oldest School, having been founded by the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain in 1842. Throughout that time, it has maintained its identity as a specialist institution dedicated to teaching and research in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences. QS Rankings currently ranks the UCL School of Pharmacy 7th in the world (Pharmacy and Pharmacology 2021) and 5th in the Shanghai Ranking (Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science).
