Nosara is considered a relatively safe place to visit or live in. The town’s locals are friendly and welcoming to all visitors from different cultures and backgrounds. There’s also little to no crime in the area. Nosara is also environmentally safe, as the town is constantly making efforts to be sustainable and eco-friendly.

How Much Does It Cost to Live in Nosara?

Transportation in Nosara

In Nosara, everything is spread out and surrounded by jungle, so transportation can be a bit tricky. Most people prefer to have their own transportation, so they either rent a car, a motorcycle, an ATV, or a golf cart, all of which are available for rent at various spots in town. Bikes can also be rented, or you can call a tuk-tuk service, which is similar to a taxi and helps transport passengers from one place to another in Nosara with ease. Buses are available to and from other nearby districts or towns. The town is also serviced by a small airport that mostly has domestic flights.

Nosara is a town with beautiful beaches, vast forests, and stunning natural scenery. You can enjoy the town of Nosara by partaking in the various activities offered there that give you the full Nosara experience. Of the town’s numerous beaches, Playa Guiones, Playa de Nosara, Playa Garza, and Playa Pelada are among the ones that you absolutely must visit during your stay. These long sandy beaches offer stunning views and are a great place to swim, relax by the water, or partake in activities like surfing or beach-side yoga. You can’t visit Nosara without booking yourself a yoga retreat. Known as the yoga hub in Costa Rica, Nosara’s yoga retreats are a must-try; they help you relax and enjoy a peaceful mindset during your time in Nosara. Surfing lessons are also a Nosara staple, they have lessons for first-timers and beginners, which help you get an even more entertaining and beneficial experience there. Playa del Ostional is the country’s best destination for a wildlife experience. This beach has a large strip of sand that’s a dedicated protected zone for sea turtles to lay their eggs every year. Nosara Biological Reserve is another wildlife destination where you can hike through the jungle and witness wildlife creatures in their natural habitats; you can keep an eye out for howler monkeys, anteaters, coatis, iguanas, and raccoons among other fascinating jungle creatures. The Sibu Wildlife Sanctuary is yet another of the town’s wildlife preserves; this sanctuary takes in injured and abandoned animals for rehabilitation and you can take a tour through the place and get to meet different wildlife species. Other activities in Nosara include hiking, going on river safaris, paddleboarding, and going on ATV tours of the city.
